Jensen Huang, the AI Leather-Jacket Guy, and His Taiwan Food Map: Pork Knuckle, Soup Dumplings, Chive Stir-Fry and Three Night Markets — A Two-Day Stamp Route in Taipei

Taipei · 8 places His chips are hard to get. The pork knuckle he ate just takes a queue.
Whenever Jensen Huang comes to Taiwan, the news splits into two kinds: stories about the chips he's announcing, and stories about what he ate the night before.
The second kind is usually more fun. The pork knuckle shop he visited has a queue out to the end of the lane the next day, and even the mangosteen he bought at Ningxia Night Market makes the news. We can't afford a GPU, but the places he's eaten at are a metro ride away.
We went back through the past few years of news reports, picked five restaurants and three night markets, and put them into a two-day route.
Before we start
We put this list together from the news. It has nothing to do with Jensen Huang or NVIDIA, and he probably doesn't know this route exists. The source for every place is at the end of the post.
You can skip the leather jacket. Queuing at a night market in one in Taipei in May gets hot.
The route at a glance
| Place | Category | Area |
|---|---|---|
| Fu Ba Wang Pork Knuckle | Food | Zhongshan |
| Li Yuan Soup Dumplings | Food | Songshan |
| Hua Niang Restaurant (Original Store) | Food | Songshan |
| Wang Ji Fucheng Rice Dumplings | Food | Songshan |
| Niu Er Beef Noodles | Food | Neihu |
| Raohe Street Night Market | Night market | Songshan |
| Ningxia Night Market | Night market | Datong |
| Linjiang Street Night Market | Night market | Da'an |
Most of the five restaurants are around Nanjing East Road and Bade Road, a walk or a stop or two on the metro apart. Niu Er is farther out, in Neihu. The three night markets are in three different directions, so eat at the restaurants by day and do the night markets after dark.
Fu Ba Wang Pork Knuckle: he ordered his way through the menu
Fu Ba Wang is a long-running pork knuckle shop in a lane in the Siping Street shopping area. Jensen Huang was photographed eating here in October 2023, and when he came back in May 2025 he ordered nearly every signature dish.
The one to get is the braised pork leg, very tender, with a bowl of rice. On your own, there's no need to order like he did. For two people, share one pork leg and add a side dish or two.
Li Yuan Soup Dumplings: let them cool a little
Li Yuan is in a lane off Section 3 of Nanjing East Road. He ordered xiaolongbao and crab roe soup dumplings here.
The soup is scalding when the basket arrives. Bite a small hole and give it a moment before you eat, or the first mouthful will burn your tongue.
Hua Niang Restaurant: the stir-fry on the keynote backdrop
Hua Niang is near Taipei Arena, and its signature dish is "fly's head": minced pork, chive flowers and fermented black beans stir-fried together, made for eating with rice. He's been several times, and later the restaurant's name turned up on the backdrop of his GTC Taipei keynote, next to a row of tech company logos.
A stir-fry place listed alongside the big chipmakers is a slightly funny sight. Order an extra bowl of rice.
Wang Ji Fucheng Rice Dumplings: 14 at once
Jensen Huang was born in Tainan, and when it comes to zongzi he still eats the southern kind. Wang Ji on Bade Road sells exactly that. He came in June 2024 and bought 14 in one go; in May 2025, his family came back for three big bags.
Besides zongzi there's rice pudding, vermicelli and fish ball soup. If you're full, take two home for breakfast the next day.
Niu Er Beef Noodles: his last meal before leaving
Niu Er is in a lane in a residential part of Neihu, a short walk from Xihu metro station. Reports say he's been at least three times, and in May 2025 his last meal before leaving Taiwan was a bowl of beef noodles here.
Half tendon, half beef is the bowl to get. Neihu is a bit of a trip from the center, so plan it for the afternoon and head back into the city afterward.
Raohe Street Night Market: pepper buns and grilled corn
Raohe's entrance is beside Ciyou Temple, and right inside is Fuzhou Shizu Pepper Buns, usually with a sizable queue. He had a pepper bun here and bought a cob from Liu's grilled corn stall, and for a while the photo of him holding it was everywhere.
Straight from the oven, the juices inside a pepper bun are as hot as a soup dumpling's.
Ningxia Night Market: he left and came back
Ningxia is the night market he's been photographed at most. The oyster omelet at Yuan Huan Bian is said to be a stop on every trip, and once, at Douhua Zhuang, he paid for the whole queue.
The best-known visit was in June 2026. He'd already got in the car to leave when it turned around and came back. He got out, had a bowl of tofu pudding, then stood at Zhan Ji's fruit stall eating mangosteen. The next day's headline said he'd gone in and out of Ningxia three times.
Eat in his order: oyster omelet, then tofu pudding, then fruit.
Linjiang Street Night Market: end with a bowl of ice
Linjiang Street Night Market is near Xinyi Anhe metro station, and many people call it Tonghua Street Night Market. He came one evening in May 2024 for shaved snow ice at Ice World.
After pork knuckle, soup dumplings, zongzi and oyster omelets, ice is the right way to finish.
Two-day plan
Day 1: around Nanjing East Road, plus two night markets
- Lunch at Fu Ba Wang Pork Knuckle
- In the afternoon, visit Wang Ji Fucheng Rice Dumplings and take two home for the next day's breakfast
- Raohe Street Night Market in the early evening
- Move on to Ningxia Night Market later (if you still have the energy)
Day 2: soup dumplings, chive stir-fry, beef noodles and ice to finish
- Breakfast on yesterday's zongzi
- Lunch at Li Yuan Soup Dumplings
- Niu Er Beef Noodles in Neihu in the afternoon
- Dinner at Hua Niang Restaurant for the chive stir-fry
- Finish with shaved snow ice at Linjiang Street Night Market
If two night markets in one evening is too much, move Ningxia to the second night and Hua Niang to the first day.
Before you go
- Opening hours, closing days and ticket prices can change, so check each place's official website before you set off. All of these places have had long queues after appearing in the news, and reports say Hua Niang needs booking well ahead, so call first for busy times.
- The five restaurants are easy to reach by metro and on foot. For Niu Er, take the Wenhu Line to Xihu Station. All three night markets are near metro stations.
- Photos of the food are fine, but people in the queue and the shop owners may not want to be in your shot, so ask first.
- All eight stops are about eating, and two days is a full schedule. If you're stuffed, skip one and come back another time.
